IUCD stands for intra uterine contraceptive device and are made of plastic or metal and are placed in the woman's womb to prevent pregnancy. They are inserted by specialists or doctors specially trained in the procedure. How Do They Work? They are inserted by a doctor into the womb and prevent the sperm from reaching the egg.
